Sig 9mm ar1/17/2024 Can't remember where, though.Īccording to (), the C-Products Defense mags and ASC mags are good. I just recently saw somewhere selling 25-rd. Uzi mags don't give you a last-round-bolt-hold-open feature. Or you can cut a catch in the Uzi mags to work with the AR15/9 mag release. I have a mag block that lets me run unmodified Uzi mags. Have fun and be sure to post when you get it all put together.ĭo you know a good place to get the colt smg, style mags. Again, matters of looks and personal preference. There are a couple of places making them like this, but they can be hard to find. But then a "correct" 9mm upper doesn't have a forward assist opening or case deflector. But the gas block looks "correct" on a 9mm upper. Doing the silicone trick on your charging handle does as much good as anything. I don't feel the gas block is a "must" when shooting suppressed. And I understand there is some modification you have to make to the standard Colt-style bolt for it to work with Glock mags. 223, but with a pistol-caliber-only lower, that won't be an issue. It also makes it so you don't have to swap hammers out when going from 9mm to. The ramped bolts make the cycling of the action less violent on the hammer/trigger pins. You can get 2 or 3 Uzi mags for the cost of one 30-round Glock mag. Unless you just have to have mag compatibility with your Glock pistol, I like the metal AR15/9 mags. Most of your questions get down to a matter of personal preference. I can't comment on the pistol-caliber lowers, other than people seem to like the DDLES / QC10 lowers. Maybe with a rifle caliber, or if I was doing full-auto mag dumps. Some people have complained that the forend heats up too much with the can inside it, but I haven't noticed that, shooting 9mm. The Trident-9 is too short for this forend, but the Bowers cans I have work great. More recently I've gone to the "SD" look with the longer forend. I built one 6 or 8 years ago using a Spike's 5.5" upper (I don't think they've offered one of those in a while, though). Thanks so much for any help, I have been trying to read old posts on different forums as much as possible but if possible anyone has any info or tidbits to help me along and maybe save me a headache or two that wold be great And then there are the special ramped bolts If I am not mistaken if I went the glock route ? ALso is it necessary to have a gas deflector when shooting 9mm suppressed?Īs you can tell I am new to the whole build route, I am not really worried about the build itself, more or less just getting the right parts to have the reliability to run that is confusing me more than anything. Adco's 4.5" barrel with 1/2x28 threads is a way i am thinking of going. Haven't found a factory drop in upper with the barrel Length I am looking at. I do know I would like to stick with a 5" or shorter barrel for sure. Some I see using the Sundevil uppers or VLTOR MUR1's. Haven't even got to the uppers as far as which way would be a good option. Just wondering if I should stick with the more reputable lower or not. I believe Rock River Arms makes a 9mm also. The other options I have looked at is the Lone wolf G9 glock compatable lowers, but then have the larger magwell look to them. Guess I am being picky.Īnyone have the Quarter Circle 10 lowers ( ) or have any experience with them?, read a few posts about issues with the glock lowers not locking back on last round. One thing I do like about the colt is the way the mags exit straight down vs the glocks angled back. Any opinions on best route if I went this way, pluses and minuses of the glock vs the colt They offer both the glock version and the Colt version. That would leave me with as far as I know a DDLES lower ( hard to get ), or now being made as Quarter Circle 10 I guess. Not crazy about a lower with a magwell block look. Love the rail over the suppressor look only showing the last few inches, and the dedicated 9mm mag fit. Here is the look I am trying to get: posted by seattlite ![]() Thats why I am thinking of putting together myself exactly what I want. Seems there aren't any uppers built from factory that have the length barrel I am looking to get. I know there are a lot of different routes I can go with, I have been looking all around at my different options, in lowers and uppers. Ever since getting a sparrow its true once you get one you want more :) ![]() I have on order a Liberty Mystic X suppressor for it that I plan on using for my 300 Blk and this 9mm build. So now I want to put together a SBR 9mm AR without a Sig Brace and a use a Magpul Ctr stock. I just received my 10 1/2'' 300 BLK pistol with Sig Brace (love it ) thanks to the Found a Deal here on this forum. Want to thank in advance for any and all help.
